A family in Rajshahi has alleged that their underage Hindu daughter was manipulated into converting to Islam and marrying a Muslim man against the family’s wishes. The family claims she was subjected to psychological pressure and intimidation before the alleged conversion and marriage.

The family has accused Riaz ul Islam Riaz, 27, son of Rabiul Islam and a resident of Bikrail area under Katakhali police station in Rajshahi, of developing a relationship with the girl and allegedly influencing her over an extended period.
According to the family’s account, on June 8, 2026, the girl was allegedly subjected to various forms of psychological pressure and intimidation and was forced to leave Hinduism and embrace Islam. The family further alleges that the two were married in Rajshahi on the same day according to Muslim religious customs.
The family said the alleged conversion and marriage took place without their knowledge or consent. They maintain that their daughter was influenced and pressured into the decisions and have called for a proper investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case.
