24 September, 2026 – Nasirnagar:- A robbery has reportedly taken place at the residence of Babu Bidyut Kanti Deb, former head teacher of Gokarna Syed Wali Ullah School and College in Nasirnagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria.
According to the allegations, a group of robbers entered his home on the night of September 24, 2026, and held him and his family members hostage at gunpoint. The robbers allegedly tied Bidyut Kanti Deb’s hands, legs, and eyes before looting gold jewelry, copper and brass items, and other valuable belongings from the residence.
According to the family, the robbers first took Bidyut Kanti Deb hostage. They then allegedly tied his hands, legs, and eyes and held other members of the family at gunpoint. The robbers subsequently took away gold jewelry, copper and brass items, and other valuables from the house.
The incident has reportedly caused concern and fear in the local community. Residents have strongly condemned and protested the incident, demanding a proper investigation and calling for those involved in the robbery to be identified and brought to justice.
Local residents have also called on the administration and local representatives to strengthen law enforcement and take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of people and their property in Nasirnagar.
