No Parents to Share the Joy, Orphaned Boy Scores Golden A+ in SSC

Bagerhat, 10|08|2026:- For many families, the day SSC examination results are announced is filled with celebrations, sweets, relatives and the pride of parents watching their children succeed.

But for 16-year-old Aritra Sarkar and his elder brother Arnab Sarkar, the day brought both achievement and a painful reminder of the parents they have lost. Aritra, a science student at Bagerhat Adarsha Secondary School, achieved a GPA 5, popularly known as a Golden A+, in the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination.

It was a result his parents would have been proud to celebrate. But neither of them is alive today.

Aritra’s father, Utpal Sarkar, died on 25 June 2022. His mother died in 2024. Since then, his 19-year-old elder brother Arnab has been his main source of support. After their father’s death, the two brothers tried to keep the small grocery shop he had left behind running. But financial difficulties eventually forced them to close the business.

Since then, the brothers have been supporting themselves and continuing their education through private tutoring. A maternal aunt has also been helping them with food and day-to-day care as much as she can. On the morning of 10 August, Aritra checked his SSC result on a mobile phone and learned that he had achieved the highest grade. The result brought happiness to the brothers, but that happiness was accompanied by the pain of knowing that their parents were no longer there to share the moment.

Aritra now dreams of becoming an engineer and serving people. His elder brother Arnab also has ambitions of his own. He recently sat for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination and is waiting for his results. His dream is to become a lawyer and stand beside people who face injustice and oppression.

Despite losing both parents at a young age and facing financial hardship, the two brothers have continued their education through determination and hard work. Their story is a reminder that even after losing the shelter and guidance of parents, dreams can survive through courage, perseverance and mutual support. Aritra and Arnab now hope to continue their education and build a better future. Their journey has already shown the strength of two brothers determined to keep their dreams alive despite adversity.
