Hindus and Chakma Community Targeted in Alleged Derogatory Remarks by Thoaiching Mong Shak.

01 November, 2026- VOM:- Allegations have emerged that Thoaiching Mong Shak has made derogatory remarks targeting Hindu and Chakma communities in Bangladesh, as well as Hindu students residing at Jagannath Hall of the University of Dhaka.

According to allegations based on observations of his recent activities, he reportedly used the derogatory term “Kulangar” (a disgrace or dishonour) to refer collectively to Hindus and members of the Chakma community in Bangladesh.

He also allegedly labelled all Hindu students of Jagannath Hall at the University of Dhaka as agents of India’s intelligence agency RAW or “Indian stooges.”

The alleged remarks have raised concerns over the use of derogatory and potentially inflammatory language targeting religious and ethnic minority communities, as well as students on the basis of their religious identity.
