Hindu-Owned Pharmacy Allegedly Seized by Local Influential Individuals in Mymensingh; Employees, Including Women, Assaulted.

02 November, 2026 – MYMENSINGH:- A Hindu-owned pharmacy located in front of the Charpara Hospital Gate in Mymensingh city has allegedly been forcibly occupied by a group of locally influential individuals following an attack, vandalism and looting at the premises. Several employees, including female staff members, were reportedly physically assaulted before everyone inside the shop was forcibly driven out and the establishment was locked.

The incident allegedly took place on the evening of Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Banani Pharmacy, situated in the busy Charpara hospital area of the city.

According to allegations, a group of locally influential individuals entered the pharmacy and launched an attack on the employees. Female staff members were also reportedly subjected to physical assault during the incident.

The assailants allegedly vandalised the shop, looted items from the premises and forcibly evicted everyone present inside. They subsequently took control of the pharmacy and put a lock on its entrance, preventing the owner and employees from accessing the establishment.

The pharmacy is reportedly owned by a Hindu individual. However, further details regarding the owner’s identity, the identities of those accused and the precise motive behind the alleged occupation have not yet been established.

The incident has raised concern in the Charpara area, particularly because the pharmacy is located near a major hospital entrance. Allegations of forcibly occupying a business through violence, vandalism and intimidation have also prompted concerns about the safety of the business owner and employees.

The victims are seeking appropriate intervention to recover control of the pharmacy and ensure accountability for those allegedly involved in the attack and forced occupation.
