Sign board area, Narayanganj, 12|08|2026:- Hindu family has accused a former Jubo Dal leader of attempting to seize their ancestral property, claiming that the family has been intimidated and that police have supported the effort to take control of the land.
The family says the disputed property has been in their possession for around 100 years and that they have documents supporting their ownership. Despite this, they allege that sand has recently been dumped on the land under the cover of darkness in what they describe as an attempt to occupy the property.
The family has identified Dr Bachhedur Rahman Sohel, who they say identifies himself as a leader of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB), as being behind the alleged attempt to take over the property.
According to the family, Dr Sohel allegedly showed photographs with the former prime minister to intimidate them and create fear over their claim to the land.
The family also alleges that police personnel were involved in or provided support during the attempted occupation. They have called for the authorities to investigate the matter and protect their ancestral property.
The affected family says all relevant ownership documents are in their favour and that they have a long history of possessing the land. They fear that continued attempts to fill the property with sand could eventually make it difficult for them to retain control over it.
The family is now seeking intervention from the authorities and hopes that their century-old ancestral property will be returned and protected.
The allegations regarding land grabbing, intimidation and police involvement could not be independently verified from the information provided. A response from Dr Bachhedur Rahman Sohel and the police would be needed to establish their position on the claims.
