05 November 2026- Faridpur:- A 32-year-old woman from Faridpur, Bristi Biswas, has accused her husband, Ibrahim Molla, of subjecting her to years of physical and mental abuse, attempting to burn her alive by pouring petrol on her body, and trying to force her out of their home along with their two children.
According to reports, around 14 years ago, Bristi fell in love with her neighbour, Ibrahim Molla. She allegedly left her previous family life and religious identity after being influenced by Ibrahim, subsequently converting and marrying him.
Following their marriage, Ibrahim moved to Saudi Arabia for work. However, Bristi alleges that his behaviour changed after he returned to Bangladesh. She claims that he began subjecting her to prolonged physical and mental abuse over various issues, including suspicions of extramarital relationships.
Alleged Attempt to Burn Her Alive
Bristi further alleged that approximately two years ago, Ibrahim poured petrol on her body and set her on fire in an attempt to kill her. The incident reportedly left burns covering around 25 percent of her body, including her hands and chest.
Husband Allegedly Marries Again and Seeks to Evict Her
Bristi claims that after 14 years of marriage, Ibrahim no longer wants to continue their relationship and has married another woman, establishing a separate household elsewhere. She alleges that he is now seeking to drive her out of their home, leaving her and their two children in an extremely vulnerable situation.
The woman is reportedly facing severe uncertainty over her future, her children’s welfare and their place of residence.
The case has raised concerns about domestic violence, women’s safety, abandonment and the rights of women and children. Bristi’s allegations against her husband require appropriate investigation and legal scrutiny to establish the facts and ensure justice.
